GB General Contractors recently completed a contract to render an existing
bathroom into an ADA compliant room which would facilitate entry and afford
accessibility and independence for our paralyzed and wheelchair bound client.
The remodeling project involved removing existing bathroom doorway,
bathroom fixtures, wall tiles and some plumbing. Using ADA guidelines to
begin our remodeling project, we Installed a 32 inch wide pocket doorway
into the bathroom (wheelchair accessible), a vanity area where a wheelchair
could easily roll up to with little effort, a roll-in shower without curbs
or threshold including a 3/8 inch slopped tile floor facilitating drainage
and finally, replacing the existing commode with a Kohler Gabriella ADA
compliant compact toilet allowing our client’s wheelchair easy maneuvering.
Remodeling wheelchair accessible bathroom:
- Moen Kingsley high arc vanity top with lavatory/sink.
- Moen Kingsley ADA hand shower fixture with slide bar and hand held shower head.
- Moen Kingsley 24 inch bath/shower safety bar (2).
- Kohler Gabriella Comfort Height compact toilet.
- Slate Mosaic Multicolor tile (walls and floor)
