Kitchen Face Lift.

Kitchen Remodeling Project Many of our clients are trying to find ways to create a more contemporary kitchen, but would like to keep their existing cabinets. So how do we create this new look without totally removing all the existing cabinets. We created this new look with the help of a very talented Interior Designer, Peggy Fuller with By Design Interiors. In the kitchen we gave the cabinets a new contemporary distressed look by glazing them. There was a need for more storage in the kitchen, so we installed a couple of pull outs to solve this issue. We removed the existing cabinet pulls and installed new pulls to add to our new look. We added some block paneling and decorative corbels on the existing cabinets. To add to this look, we installed new granite counter tops through the kitchen and bar area. Another nice feature was a large undermount sink, which makes things easier while your preparing food. The new back splash was very subtle and helped balance the colors. We removed the existing double stack oven to install a new convection microwave and single oven. Our cabinet person was able to retrofit the existing cabinet openings to allow for the new appliances.

In the bar area, we dressed it up with block paneling and corbels to support the bar. Peggy's faux artist did a wonderful job making the cabinets look like old antique furniture. The client selected a dark granite that really set off the bar area with a nice undermount sink. On the wall of the wine rack, we installed a dry stack porous stone looking tile for the back splash. Our cabinet guy built a beautiful wine rack that was installed on the wall of the dry stack tile. Which allows you to see through the wine rack to the dry stack tile. Our painter stained the wine rack with a very dark brown, which complemented the wall paper and tile.

The powder bath was being updated at the same time. To create this new look, we removed the dated fur down and added a new chandelier light. We removed the existing vanity and installed a furniture sink that came with its own granite counter top. The walls were faux painted to add to the new contemporary look.

Peggy did a excellent job walking our client through the complete selection process. She made sure all the colors coordinated together and continued the new contemporary theme. She helped the client pick out the paint colors and the glaze finishes, the granite counter tops, the tile for the back splash, plumbing fixtures, wall paper, and designed the new wine rack. A lot of clients have an idea of what kind of look they want, but can get overwhelmed when making the selections. That's where Peggy comes in and guides the client through the entire selection process, she has a great eye for design.
