Trex - Fencing & Decking.
An innovator in alternative use, Trex uses wood and plastic scraps purchased from landfills, along with sawdust and wood fibers from recycling plants across the US to produce their full line of decking, fences, railing and just about any outdoor application. For Gulf coast homes, Trex provides low maintenance, protection from moisture and salt water, insects and the harsh weather. There are now several manufacturers on the market.
PVC Board - Wood replacement.
PVC boarding is very much in demand along coastal cities in view of the effects of salt and sand erosion. Wind and moisture are destructive to any wood and metal structures. PVC fencing became the product of choice and quite successfully used in many beach homes along the coast. Now, flooring and other forms of PVC is available along with a variety of color hues.
